Spotting overdue maintenance in listing photos

Photos tell more than you think

Agent photos are well lit, but often still show details: discoloured joints, cracks in plasterwork or an old bathroom.

Common signs

Discolouration around windows and ceilings, loose sealant, outdated electrics, single glazing and wooden frames with peeling paint.

Also notice what has not been photographed: if the bathroom or attic is missing, ask about it.
